I picked RISE UP because if you listen to the words one of the verses says “All we need, all we need is hope and for that we have each other. “ I feel like all we really need is hope and each other because people are struggling with their needs and other stuff. We need to have hope and keep our heads high.

I, Harlow Bivens, will change the world by dreaming big and having many dreams. I don't want to dream big, I want to help change by making my dreams and other people's dreams become real. I want to make the world better by making it safe and welcoming to everyone. I will change the world by giving love and kindness to everyone. I can be a good friend to all of my classmates. I can listen to other people's dreams and not just my own to make it better for all.

This dance represents how I can change the world. The style of dance I'm using is ballet. Ballet is stereotyped because people think it's easy, but trust me, it's not! Like the world, ballet is very delicate but also strong. The story I'm telling in this dance is of a girl who always felt uncomfortable in her own skin and was heartbroken about the negativity of the world she lives in. In this dance, she is expressing her dreams for the future and showing that one day she will change it.

People should just let loose and be happy. Isn't that important?? Our best ideas come to us when we are being ourselves. Small ideas and concepts can change the world. Like dominoes, one thing leads to another and all the sudden, make way tradition, in comes new ideas!! This dance really represents just letting loose and being yourself because you are the best version of yourself. When you accept who you are, then you can get started on changing the world, little by little.

John Legend's song "If You're Out There" ties very well with this year's theme, "I Will Change the World." The song's message is that we all need to stand up and make a difference by working together to create a better future for everyone. This song is a call to action and change, reminding us that we all need to stand up for what is right. This project was also my first breakthrough as the editor of my video because I had never edited my own work before. The inspiration for my choreography was inviting others to the prospect of change. In the choreography I am welcoming others to join me and make a difference. At the end of the video, me walking up the hill symbolize leaving my problems behind me and walking into a better future.

Bring the Sunshine

I will change the world by bringing sunshine to the world and helping those in need. This year I made a Go-Fund-Me for the Ronald McDonald house of Northeast Kansas. I hope that the money raised from this fundraiser will bring sunshine into the lives of these sick patients and their families. Here is the link: https://gofund.me/3bf325fe. This is my way of changing the world one step at a time.
